Beehive Preparatory School Parent Reviews

Average Parent Rating

“Excellent School”

Beehive School is a wonderful school where every teacher including the head teacher and the office staff care about both the students and their families, the school has been a great help to my nieces who came over from South Africa and needed to catch up almost a year and half worth of work due to the difference in the system of education. They were given extra support by the school as they immediately identified gaps in their knowledge that needed to be filled. The small class seizes made it easier for students to learn well and be involved. Big thank you to Mrs Gray, Mr Gurr, Mrs Walker, Miss Lampard, Mr Rusal and Mrs Collins. Excellent School I will recommend to friends and families.
“High Academic Standards”

Highly motivated and hardworking teachers and amazing school. The school has very high academic standard and have turned my son into a self motivated and ambitious kid and he is extremely happy. We highly recommend this school.
“VERY GOOD SCHOOL”

Best school in the area. Young, motivated Headteacher. Children very happy and learning very well. Work amount is good and makes children think. Friendly school where children are having fun too.
“Amazing School”

Amazing school. My child is performing well above average and the school still make sure they are pushing him on. The staff are very approachable and we couldn't be happier. Highly Recommend
“Best school in the area, highly recommend”

We have been associated with the school for many years. In our opinion it is going from strength to strength. My child has made amazing progress and they love attending Beehive. Highly recommend.
“Really good School”

My children go to this school and we love it. They care about the children and they have made really good progress in the class.
“Low academic standards”

I have had children in this school for a long time, about 3 years ago it was taken over by new owners and standards I feel have dropped significantly. In my opinion it is far behind all the other prep schools in the area. I don't believe the new owners know how to prepare children for the 11 plus or for the private school entrance exams. They don't seem to understand exactly what is required to achieve success in entrance exams in this area. They tend to focus more on non- academic activities. Having had children in this school with the previous owners and giving the new owners a fair go, I am sad to say I feel my children will be better educated in a state school. I would not recommend this school to anyone.
“Very good school”

This is a good school. We have been parents for many years and the new owners came just at the right time as the school was not moving with the times. The school is caring and is preparing the children really well for the 11+ and secondary schools. We are very happy here.
“Academic standards dropping”

The school was taken over a few years ago and, in my opinion as a current parent, the academic standards have dropped significantly in terms of grammar schools and independent schools places achieved. I have witnessed poor staff retention and they are introducing a lot of new activities that just seem to be revenue raising activities. There is almost no IT facilities for the children.
“Beehive Prep”

This school has gone through some changes since the new leadership and we have experienced poor staff retention. The new Head has brought in more facilities but they appear to be charging for everything. We have noticed our child's progress is below expectations when compared to other prep schools in the area. In our experience, mixed year groups do not work well and children are not able to keep up. I would not recommend this school if you are looking for a quality prep school education.
