The school is of average size. The proportion of pupils known to be eligible for free schoo l meals is below average and the proportion from minority ethnic groups is well below average. Very few pupils speak English as an additional language and none is at the early stages of learning English. The school identifies about one in ten pupils as having special educational needs and/or disabilities compared to an average of one in five nationally. Most of these pupils have either speech and communication difficulties or moderate learning difficulties. Very few pupils have a statement of special educational needs. Before- and after-school facilities operate on the site, but these are independently run and are inspected separately. The school has Healthy School status and is in the process of applying for advanced status.
