Castle Hill Primary is larger than the average-sized primary school. The proportion of pupils known to be eligible for support through the pupil premium is average. Pupil premium is additional funding for looked after children, pupils known to be eligible for free school meals and pupils with a parent in the armed services. Currently, there are no pupils with a parent in the armed forces on the school roll. The proportion of disabled pupils and those with special educational needs supported through school action is average. The proportion of pupils who are supported at school action plus or with a statement of special educational needs is higher than the national average. There is a resource provision from Nursery to Year 2 for pupils with speech, language and communication disorders. The proportion of pupils from different ethnic backgrounds is higher than average, as is the number of pupils whose first language is not English. The school meets the current floor standards, which are the minimum standards for attainment and progress expected by the government. There is an on-site children’s centre and pre-school which are subject to a separate inspection.
