The concentration of pupils shows likelihood of admission based on distance criteria

This School Guide heat map has been plotted using official pupil data taken from the last School Census collected by the Department for Education. It is a visualisation of where pupils lived at the time of the annual School Census.

Our heat maps use groups of postcodes, not individual postcodes, and have naturally soft edges. All pupils are included in the mapping (i.e. children with siblings already at the school, high priority pupils and selective and/or religious admissions) but we may have removed statistical ‘outliers’ with more remote postcodes that do not reflect majority admissions.

For some schools, the heat map may be a useful indicator of the catchment area but our heat maps are not the same as catchment area maps. Catchment area maps, published by the school or local authority, are based on geographical admissions criteria and show actual cut-off distances and pre-defined catchment areas for a single admission year.

This information is provided as a guide only. The criteria in which schools use to allocate places in the event that they are oversubscribed can and do vary between schools and over time. These criteria can include distance from the school and sometimes specific catchment areas but can also include, amongst others, priority for siblings, children of a particular faith or specific feeder schools. Living in an area where children have previously attended a school does not guarantee admission to the school in future years. Always check with the school’s own admission authority for the current admission arrangements.

3 steps to help parents gather catchment information for a school:

  1. Look at our school catchment area guide for more information on heat maps. They give a useful indicator of the general areas that admit pupils to the school. This visualisation is based on all attending pupils present at the time of the annual School Census.
  2. Use the link to the Local Authority Contact (above) to find catchment area information based on a single admission year. This is very important if you are considering applying to a school.
  3. On each school page, use the link to visit the school website and find information on individual school admissions criteria. Geographical criteria are only applied after pupils have been admitted on higher priority criteria such as Looked After Children, SEN, siblings, etc.

“Very good!”

"> My child is finishing Y7 now and we couldn't be happier. Yes, they start early, finish late and the rules are pretty strict. I am pro kids enjoying their childhood and having more free time and offered my child to move in the beginning of school year. To my surprise the answer was a firm no. I did not have to help with homework, exam prep or have to worry about school supplies - my child transformed into highly responsible, even though often tired, young person who enjoys studying and takes pride in having a set of good values. I'm really grateful to our school and believe that once we move to a permanent site it will be truly exceptional.
“Good - but issues with school finish time (please read)”

"> I can recommend the school in the area which I love. I like the discipline of the school: firm and fair. The kids has quickly learn to take responsibility for their actions, and try to be diligent in their homework. But yes there is lots of it (to much in my professional opinion). Also good is that they have the option to stay in homework club. Now I have to mention that I don't like that kids finish so late in the day ( 4:15pm). The kids are limited to do other activities outside of school or enjoy the last days as a kids. When the kids can continue dancing, painting or doing sports, etc. (important activities to develop). We have had to quit some activities and I think that's sad. But I have to choose this or we go to bed at 10/11pm because of the homework. I hope the new changes include, at less, one hour less and they finish at a similar time to others schools.

"> My child is at Ealing Fields High School (Y8) and absolutely loves it. It was a big risk to send her there, as it is a brand new school, but it has completely paid off. She has made so many great friends, is involved in many sports events and has been on some great trips including Wimbledon Tennis. The teachers are inspirational, very friendly but also very strict. I like the discipline of the school, firm and fair. She has quickly learnt to take responsibility for her actions, and is diligent in her homework (and yes there are lots of it), making sure she has correct books and stationery on a daily basis. The school is now part of the Twyford CofE Trust, so will go from strength to strength. They will be moving into their new building on Northfields Avenue, hopefully within the next 18 months, so once settled there i think it will be a very strong school. I would highly recommend this school to any new parent.
“School meals”

unlock
"> As a parent, there are some problems with this new school. A major one is for Muslim students, who are expected to only eat vegetarian or the occasional fish based meal, as there is no halal meat on the menu. This problem is compounded by the fact that all students must eat the meals provided, packed lunches are not permitted.
