School Description

This is an above-average sized junior school. Most pupils are White British. There are a few pupils from a range of other heritages. Very few pupils speak English as an additional language. The proportion of disabled pupils and those who have special educational needs, including those supported at school action and school action plus or with a statement, is average. The proportion of pupils who are eligible for pupil premium funding is below average. This is additional government funding for pupils known to be eligible for free school meals, children from armed service families and those that are looked after. The school meets the government’s floor standards, which set the minimum expectations for attainment and progress.

Pupil heat map key

This School Guide heat map has been plotted using official pupil data taken from the last School Census collected by the Department for Education. It is a visualisation of where pupils lived at the time of the last School Census (released annually in July).

Our heat maps use groups of postcodes, not individual postcodes, and have naturally soft edges. All pupils are included in the mapping (i.e. children with siblings already at the school, high priority pupils and selective and/or religious admissions) but we may have removed statistical ‘outliers’ with more remote postcodes that do not reflect majority admissions.

For some schools, the heat map may be a useful indicator of the catchment area but our heat maps are not the same as catchment area maps. Catchment area maps, published by the school or local authority, are based on geographical admissions criteria and show actual cut-off distances and pre-defined catchment areas for a single admission year.

This information is provided as a guide only. The areas from which pupils are admitted to a school can change from year to year to reflect the number of siblings and pupils admitted under high priority admissions criteria.

3 steps to help parents gather catchment information for a school:

  1. Look at our heat maps. They give a useful indicator of the general areas that admit pupils to the school. This visualisation is based on all attending pupils present at the time of the last School Census.
  2. Use the link to the Local Authority Contact (above) to find catchment area information based on a single admission year. This is very important if you are considering applying to a school.
  3. On each school page, use the link to visit the school website and find information on individual school admissions criteria. Geographical criteria are only applied after pupils have been admitted on higher priority criteria such as Looked After Children, SEN, siblings, etc.

Earls Hall Primary School Reviews

Average Rating:

“Highly Recommended”
"> Amazing school with a friendly community. Children are taught the importance of being a good citizen as well as educated to an excellent standard.
“Five Star School”
"> My children all love this school and I do too. The headteacher is involved in every aspect of the school and teaches too. The team that supports him are extremely efficient and approachable. I couldn't be more happy for my children
“Earls Hall Primary”
"> An amazing school where the headteacher leads from the front. Knowing every pupil by name, he lives and breathes this school. His passion and enthusiasm know no bounds and he regularly goes above and beyond call of duty to ensure the happiness of the pupils. This attitude is also reflected in his staff. The children enjoy going to school, where a lot of thought goes into creative lesson planning to engage them from the very beginning. Cannot recommend this school enough.
“Earls Hall 5 stars!”
"> All three of my children attend or attended this school. The sense of community and pastoral care of the children is second to none. Coupled with a fantastic head teacher who nothing is too much trouble for him and an accessible manner, with great teachers, the combination is a brilliant team at a school that runs like clockwork. I am proud that my children are part of this fab school.
“Earls Hall Primary”
"> I love my child's school. There is a great sense of community and welfare is taken seriously. Teachers, especially the Headmaster, go the extra stretch for getting to know all the children and by name! Always the desire to improve, whether that be educationally, ethics or facilities. An open door policy to parents and carers . I'm happy that my child is happy. Happy children = happy parents!
