School Description

East Crompton St George Church of England School is a smaller than the average-sized primary school. The overwhelming majority of pupils are of White British heritage. The proportion of pupils known to be eligible for the pupil premium (additional funding allocated for pupils in the care of the local authority or known to be eligible for free school meals or whose family are in the armed forces) is broadly average. The proportion of pupils whose learning needs are supported at a level known as school action is broadly average. The proportion of pupils supported at school action plus or with a statement of special educational needs is also broadly average. The school meets the government’s current floor standards, which set the minimum expectations for pupils’ attainment and progress in English and mathematics. Since the previous inspection, there has been a significant change in the teaching staff. The majority of teachers currently in place are new to the school. There has also been a change in senior leadership with the appointment of a new headteacher and a new role for the assistant headteacher. The school has a before-school and after-school care club.
