This larger-than-average primary school has two classes in each year group and three Reception classes. Almost all pupils are of White British heritage. The proportion of disabled pupils and those with special educational needs supported at school action is lower than average. The proportion supported through school action plus or with a statement of special educational needs is higher than average. The school has specially resourced provision for 30 pupils with severe learning difficulties from Reception to Year 6, all of whom have statements of special educational needs. The proportion of pupils known to be eligible for the pupil premium is below average. (The pupil premium is additional funding for those pupils who are known to be eligible for free school meals, children from service families and children who are looked after by the local authority). The school exceeds the government’s current floor standards, which set the minimum expectations for attainment and progress in English and mathematics. There is privately managed pre-school and after-school provision on site which was not inspected as part of this inspection.
