School Description

The school is larger than an average-sized primary school. The proportion of disabled pupils and those with special educational needs is below average, at about one in 20. The proportion of disadvantaged pupils supported by the pupil premium funding is approximately one in 12, which is well below the national average. (The pupil premium is additional government funding to support pupils known to be eligible for free school meals and those children who are looked after by the local authority.) Most pupils are White British. The proportion of pupils from minority ethnic groups is below the national average and few pupils speak English as an additional language. The school has a breakfast and after school club run by a private company. This is subject to a separate inspection report. The school meets the government’s current floor standards which are the minimum expectations for pupils’ attainment and progress in reading, writing and mathematics by the end of Year 6. The headteacher is a local Leader of Education and provides support to the development of teaching and learning to other schools.
