This is an average-sized primary school. Most pupils are from White British backgrounds. At the time of the inspection a group of Year 5 and 6 pupils were out on a three-day residential visit. There have been a few changes to the teaching staff since the previous inspection. The proportion of pupils supported by the pupil premium funding is above average. This is additional government funding for pupils who are known to be eligible for free school meals, children of service families or those who are looked after by the local authority. The proportion of disabled pupils and those with special educational needs supported at school action is below average. The proportion identified for additional support through school action plus or with a statement of special educational needs is slightly below average. The school meets the government floor targets, which are the minimum expectations for attainment and progress in English and mathematics at the end of Year 6. The school manages its own breakfast and after-school clubs.
