This is a smaller-than-average junior school. The school runs specially resourced provision for pupils with special educational needs for 10 pupils with moderate learning difficulties. Most pupils are of White British heritage and very few pupils are at the early stages of learning English as an additional language. A significant number of pupils join or leave the school between Years 3 and 6. The proportion of pupils known to be eligible for extra funding from the pupil premium (which is provided to support the learning of pupils who are entitled to free school meals or in the care of the local authority) is significantly higher than that in most schools. The proportion of pupils supported through school action is above average. The proportion of pupil supported at school action plus or with a statement of special educational needs is just above average. The school meets the current government floor standards, which determine the minimum expectations for pupils’ attainment and progress.
