Staff skilfully help pupils to regulate their own behaviour and to manage their emotions. Staff are experts at noticing when pupils experience distress or discomfort, and they respond quickly and sensitively. Pupils benefit from an impressive range of activities that promote their wider development. For example, staff make sure that they encourage every pupil in key stages 1 and 2 to attend a residential, where pupils begin to become independent and take part in activities that challenge and inspire them.
