Halton House School is an independent day special school registered for up to 12 pupils. The school admits pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties (BESD). The school shares a building with one of the group’s children’s homes. The school has its own accommodation arrangements and separate entrances and exits. Some of the children in the home attend the school. An inspection report for the home is available on Ofsted’s website. The school opened in February 2008. It was last inspected in September 2012, when all the independent school standards were met. The school is registered to admit boys and girls aged from eight to 18. However, no pupils have been admitted onto the roll of the sixth form since the last inspection. At the time of the inspection, three pupils on roll had statements of special educational needs. At the time of the inspection pupils were aged from 11 to 16. Most pupils had joined the school within the last year. All pupils were full time. The headteacher is also a director of Alliance Care and Education. He is responsible for the oversight of another school within the group. The Head of Education oversees the day-to-day running of the school. The school uses alternative provision at West Cheshire College. There were no pupils attending at the time of the inspection and the provision was last used in the summer term of 2015.
