Leaders aim to offer pupils an academic education with a strong focus on the sciences. This is what attracts parents and carers and pupils to this school. However, leaders do not have sufficiently high aspirations for all pupils. Sometimes, pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) do not receive the support they need to learn well. Leaders have not made sure that all pupils’ additional needs are identified and planned for effectively. Pupils do not currently have lessons in religious education (RE). The programme for pupils’ personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education is poorly planned and taught. Consequently, pupils do not build up their knowledge and understanding effectively in these subjects. Some pupils told inspectors that they enjoy school and feel safe. However, a number of pupils do not share this view. Many have concerns about staff absence and the number of cover lessons they have. Some pupils feel unable to talk to staff if they have concerns. Others feel that when they do raise concerns, staff do not listen. Leaders are not doing enough to address these issues. Leaders and staff do not manage pupils’ behaviour consistently or effectively. This includes incidents of bullying. In lessons, pupils do not routinely listen to their teachers. Staff do not deal quickly with disruption in classrooms. This distracts pupils and means that they cannot learn what the teacher has planned. Poor behaviour after break and lunch sometimes delays the start of lessons. A significant number of pupils said that bullying is a problem. They felt that staff were not good at resolving issues.

“Highly recommend”

I have confidence in this schòol. I have a child with High Function Autism which was not diagnosed until they where already attending.
The school has worked hard to help and make ajustments , even when there has been large gaps due to refusing to attend. My young child has thrived in there first year though they have found the work challenging , which is great to see them being academically stretched.
“I do not rate this school”

My son has been going to this school since it opened. In my opinion, it has steadily been getting worse. There has been a high turnover of teachers in the 5 years my son has been there. I find the school is too strict, and only the smartest kids get the teacher's full attention.
I have grandchildren now and I would not send them here. I feel I've left it too late for my own son and I'm sure his GCSEs results will suffer because of the culture of this school. Our experience has been awful – if I could rate the school minus stars I would.
“Great School”

This is a wonderful school with lovely teachers and great academics. I would highly recommend to anyone in the area.
“Brilliant school”

Brilliant school! My son is thriving at this school and I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially if you have a child with genuine interest in the Sciences. The school's strength lies not just in the subject matter taught, but also the weekly school trips by each and every student all across London and beyond. We have found the teaching to be exceptional, with teachers who are above average in their skill sets (i.e. with M.A's), and often with special interest in their subjects. Truly impressive.
“Unhappy pupil”

My grandson is unhappy in this school. Science is his strength but I do not feel he is not being supported in these subjects despite his talents. In my experience, most of the staff seem to be supply teachers and permanent staff do not stay long enough to build any relationship with students.

2015 GCSE RESULTSImportant information for parents
Due to number of reforms to GSCE reporting introduced by the government in 2014, such as the exclusion of iGCSE examination results, the official school performance data may not accurately report a school’s full results. For more information, please see About and refer to the section, ‘Why does a school show 0% on its GSCE data dial? In many affected cases, the Average Point Score will also display LOW SCORE as points for iGCSEs and resits are not included.
Schools can upload their full GCSE results by registering for a School Noticeboard. All school results data will be verified.
