We are non-selective but if a child requires a place in Year 1 or above Literacy and Numeracy assessments and a visit to the school are required to ensure we can fully cater for their requirements and to give us initial data to work with.

“Girls vs Boys ratio in the Upper Years”

My son started in this school from reception and has now taken his 11+ exams. The head and her sister, the proprietor, do mostly a good job at running HHS. Whenever I have had an issue, it has been dealt with quickly, although perhaps not a effectively as I would have liked. I think the school is very good for girls all the way to Year 6; however, if I had the chance again, I would have taken my son out in Year 4 and put him in a school with a more even split of boys and girls. Unfortunately for him, having only 4 other boys in his class of 19 children and another 6 in the other Year 6 class meant that fixtures were limited and exclude the possibility for a "B" team. Only the top 6 boys are taken on ISA football tournaments and 4 are left behind. That really lowered my son's confidence at times. The head of Pastoral Care that was assigned a few years ago is excellent and has helped improve the school overall.
