School Description

Hopewell School (Bartram) is a day school for up to five students aged 11 to 16 years, situated on the premises of a children’s home. There are currently two Year 11 students on roll, both of whom are resident in the home. The school provides education for students with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, and moderate learning difficulties, who have experienced disruption and disengagement in their previous education. Both current students have statements of special educational needs. The school opened in July 2009 and this is its first published Ofsted inspection report. The school aims to: ‘educate and empower young people to realise their full potential, whilst building on resilience and providing opportunities for them to achieve the outcomes of the Every Child Matters Agenda; equip young people with the tools they need to enhance their dignity and life chances; and provide high quality services that make a positive difference to young people in a safe and therapeutic environment’.
