Ibstock Place School Parent Reviews

Average Parent Rating

“Excellent but not quite flawless”

It has a fine primary school with excellent, devoted and hardworking teachers. The work is well chosen and adapted to the childrens’ needs or abilities. The school prepares for the Year 7 11+ entry that is required for Secondary school, by having weekly tests varying between Mathematics, English and Reasoning (logic, shape puzzles, word problems), an excellent idea - there is also a mock 11+ to prepare the students. Its 11+ entry exams are of decent difficulty and sometimes comparable to famous schools, such as Kings College and St Paul’s. There is a good amount of homework - 1 hour each day from Year 5 and there are tests in every subject every 6 weeks. It has the perfect primary school, but unfortunately does not have the International Baccalaureate as its final exam in high school. It has A level which is easier than the IB as well as less gruelling, it only has 3 subjects. All teachers are open but I do find some favour the girls. Ibstock Place School is the ideal primary school and though it has its flaws, I doubt that the lessons are prepared better anywhere else.
