Kingsley Primary Academy converted to become an academy school on 1 February 2017. When its predecessor school, Kingsley Primary School, was last inspected by Ofsted in July 2016, it was judged to be inadequate. The school is part of the Cirrus Academy Trust with five other local schools. The headteacher was appointed in January 2017. There have been frequent changes in school leadership and teaching staff. The school has a specialist resource provision for pupils with SEND who have a hearing impairment. This is run by the local authority and has the capacity for up to 16 pupils. All have full-time or part-time access to mainstream education in the school. The school has a higher-than-average proportion of pupils who join at different points in the school year.
