How School Guide Rates Secondary Schools

About 18% of the pupils speak Welsh as a first language or to an equivalent standard within the school. One pupil receives support teaching in English as an additional language. Pupils of all abilities are received by the school. The proportion of pupils with a statement of special educational needs is 1.3% and a further 23% have been identified as needing some support. These figures are lower than the national averages. Nearly 6% of pupils in the school are eligible for free school meals compared to the national average of 17.4%. The headteacher and deputy headteacher were appointed to their posts in September 2015. The senior leadership team includes the headteacher, a deputy headteacher, one assistant headteacher who is also the school’s business manager and three very newly appointed associate senior leaders. The individual school budget per pupil for Llanfyllin High School in 2015-2016 is £3,951 per pupil. The maximum per pupil in the secondary schools in Powys is £4,565 and the minimum is £3,778.
