School Description

Long Close School is a day school for boys and girls aged from two to sixteen years. It is situated in a residential district between Slough in Buckinghamshire and Datchet in Berkshire. The school opened in 1940 and is now part of a group of schools owned by the global education group Cognita. At present there are 293 pupils on roll including 86 children in the Early Years Foundation Stage. Of these, 65 attend the Nursery and are a proportion are in receipt of nursery education funding. A through school, many pupils join aged 3 and attend school trough to their GCSEs in Year 11. A number of children sit the 11+ exam each year, and the school has a significantly higher than average pass rate - 82% of children passed their 11+ exam in 2024, compared to the average pass rate of 30%. Long Close offers an individualised education for every pupil, with children thriving in a warm and vibrant environment. Specialist teaching from Nursery, including Spanish, PE and Dance, ensures that children get off to the best possible start. The School was last inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate in February 2023.
