School Description

The school is larger than the average-sized primary school. Most pupils are White British. The proportion of pupils supported by the pupil premium (which in this school provides additional funding for pupils known to be eligible for free school meals and looked after children) is well above average. The proportion of disabled pupils and those who have special educational needs supported through school action is average. The proportion supported at school action plus, or with a statement of special educational needs, is below average. An increasing number of pupils join and leave the school part way through their education. The school became an all-through primary school in September 2011 and published its first set of Year 6 results in July 2012. The school has a Nursery which runs mornings and afternoons. In 2013, the school did not meet the government’s current floor standards, which set the minimum expectations for pupils’ attainment and progress in reading, writing and mathematics. A new Chair of the Governing Body has recently taken up the post.
