"> This school is fantastic, the teachers know all the pupils names from S1 to S6 and know all their weaknesses and strengths. It is a farce that Dundee City Council have decided to close this great school and are making our kids go to the Harris which is out of our community. Our kids will now have to use public transport or negotiate extremely busy roads to get to school whereas at the moment they can walk safely to school. Our kids who currently have outdoor PE facilities on site will now have to trek up to Elliot Road to take part in outdoor PE sessions at the Harris. Dundee City Council have no regard or interest in what the people of Menzieshill want and they won't incorporate the name of Menzieshill High into the name of the new school. All I can say is this it is a big mistake on the council's part by closing a great school. The new Harris is full to capacity before it even opens... where are the kids going to go when the new Harris is over capacity? No doubt they will be taught in one of the old school buildings they have closed because it was not fit for purpose or, worse, out of portacabins in the playground. This is the reality of closing Menzieshill High.
