Some joint observations were carried out with the headteacher. Inspectors looked at pupils’ books, school assessment information, the headteacher’s evaluation of teaching and learning, and a range of school documents. Inspector spoke with a small number of parents, took account of 37 responses to the Parent View, and met with some pupils from Years 1 and 2. Inspectors listened to a small number of pupils read. Inspectors spoke with a representative from the local authority and with four members of the governing body. Policies and procedures for the safeguarding of pupils were examined, including mandatory checks made during the recruitment of new staff.
