School Description

Normanhurst School is North Chingford's only private independent school, with a real family atmosphere, where pupils of all abilities are encouraged to enjoy learning and to become academically successful. Older pupils are able to be role models for younger ones and all pupils have the opportunity to develop self-confidence and to exercise leadership. The nursery and early years are very popular with many children coming from the Chingford area.

“Great school”

"> My son started Year 7 this September. He is very happy. I am very pleased with how he has settled in and how the pupils that already attend the school have made all the new pupils feel welcome. I believe this is due to the head and her team and how the school is run. The classes are very small (around 15 pupils per class) which means they get individual attention and extra help if needed.
“Unsupportive/lack of facilities”

unlock
"> I will be taking my children out of this school. I have found the SENCO there unwilling to provide communication with me whilst my child is under going investigation for possible learning difficulties. This school's policy is that they're not obliged to offer any assistance until the final diagnosis. I also found that Normanhursts lack of facilities was a major disadvantage for when it came to PE, both my sons reported on their classmates being physically unfit when it came to sporting activities.
