School Description

North Bridge House is a group of five independent co-educational day schools in North London, ranging from Nursery through to Sixth Form for ages 2 to 18. Each school is distinctive, contemporary and high-achieving, and successfully prepares children for the next stage in their school career. Children are nurtured and progressed beyond the national average at NBH Nursery and Pre-Prep Schools, before joining NBH Prep where they are set up for outstanding outcomes. We advise on and facilitate every path to success, with pupils either leaving the Prep School at the end of Year 6 (taking the 11+, the Consortium exam or going to one of the North Bridge House Senior Schools), or at the end of Year 8 (taking the Common Pre-Test, the Common Entrance exam or schools’ individual entrance tests).North Bridge House offers a choice of two Senior School campuses at 11+. NBH Senior Hampstead and NBH Senior Canonbury both focus on growing the individual in small classes and celebrate excellent GCSE results. Students are then welcomed into Sixth Form at NBH Canonbury for outstanding, individually tailored A-Level and university preparation.

WHY CHOOSE OUR PREP SCHOOL?

Occupying a grand former convent at the edge of Regent's Park, North Bridge House Prep School provides a high quality, all-round education for boys and girls aged 4 – 13 years.

The school is continually recognised for its academic excellence and on-going commitment to pupils. Awarded Outstanding in all areas of inspection, "Pupils speak with clarity and enthusiasm in class discussions, whilst also listening respectfully to the views of others. This is enabled through the strong and supportive relationships pupils have with each other and their teachers."

The school's nurturing approach allows children to grow in confidence whilst receiving thorough academic preparation for the next stage of their school career. North Bridge House Prep School sees children accepted into both NBH Senior Schools as well as top senior schools in London and the UK, often with prestigious academic, music, sport, drama and art scholarships.

To ensure each pupil thrives and achieves their full potential, NBH Prep works closely with individual families to choose the right school for their child. Both boys and girls have the option to move onto NBH Senior Canonbury or NBH Senior Hampstead at Year 7, or take the necessary entrance exams to their first choice senior schools with outstanding tuition and guidance.

Boys may take the more traditional Common Entrance route and choose to stay at NBH Prep School until age 13, where they excel academically and gain a range of leadership skills, excellently prepared for both their next school and adult life.

Similarly, come the 11+ transition point for girls, they are confident in themselves and in their exams, ready for senior school and very well advised on where they will be happy and successful.

At North Bridge House Prep, the rich and varied curriculum is tailored to challenge, stimulate and reward every pupil. The school aims to stretch pupils beyond a junior school curriculum and therefore equips children with more than just the basic understanding of a subject, setting them up for a successful academic career. Their inspection report appluades the "specialist teaching and the knowledge of staff", which combined with "experiences on residential trips and the breadth of the curriculum and extra-curricular experiences" allows "all children to find their 'True North'."

Sport is essential to pupils' physical and emotional wellbeing and their personal development at NBH Prep School. PE and games sessions are held in Regent's Park or the school gym, rock-climbing at a local sports club, and winter cricket both at Lord's and the NBH Senior's state-of-the art sports hall.

Sport is also included in the school's extra-curricular offering, which is rich, diverse and character-building, with activities ranging from music, art, and drama to chess, cookery, design technology, Spanish, ballet and street dance.

The school's inspection report also recognises the empowerment of pupils to "make their own decisions", reflecting the "high levels of confidence" that grows from the "warm, friendly and supportive culture of the school". NBH Prep School ensures excellent safeguarding of pupils, promoting happy, self-assured children who are "well-prepared for entry to their future schools".

NBH Prep is a community. A community that prioritises the progress - both academic and personal - of our children, but above all, one that cares deeply about their happiness. I hope that you do come and visit us to experience it in person. Book at northbridgehouse.com/open.
