School Description

Pupils enjoy attending this welcoming school. Staff ensure that they get to know each pupil as an individual. This helps pupils to build up trusting relationships that make them feel safe and happy in school. All pupils have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). The school is ambitious for pupils’ personal and academic success. Pupils work hard and make the most of the opportunities that the school provides for them. These include volunteering at a shop, having their stories published in a book and learning to cook. The school has high expectations of pupils’ behaviour. Pupils’ behaviour needs are understood well by staff. Well-established routines and appropriate resources help pupils to be settled and support them in being able to focus on their learning. Pupils benefit from the work that the school does to develop their social skills and independence. For example, pupils explore what makes a positive relationship and how to communicate well with others. They learn how to access public services, such as the local library. Underpinning pupils’ experiences in school are bespoke therapy sessions which aid their emotional well-being.

This school is independently managed and its admission criteria may be selective. There is no set catchment area as pupils are admitted from a wide variety of postcodes and, in the case of boarding schools, from outside the UK. Contact the school directly or visit their website for more information on Admissions Policy and Procedures.
