The school is an average-sized primary school. It has eight single-age classes, including both a Reception and a Nursery class for children in the Early Years Foundation Stage. Most pupils are of White British heritage. The proportion of pupils joining or leaving the school at other than the normal times is above average. An above-average proportion of pupils are eligible for the pupil premium, which provides additional funding for children in local authority care, children from service families and pupils known to be eligible for free school meals. The proportion of pupils supported at school action and school action plus is above average. The proportion of pupils with a statement of special educational needs is also above average. A breakfast club and after-school club are available, but as they are managed independently, they were not part of this inspection. The school meets the government’s current floor standards, which sets the minimum expectations for pupils’ attainment and progress.
