Sandringham is a smaller than average-sized infant school. There is a nursery on site which is managed by the school. and is inspected separately. The proportion of pupils who receive support from pupil premium (additional funding provided by the government for pupils known to be eligible for free school meals or in local authority care) is below the national average. The proportion of pupils who are disabled or who have special educational needs is below average. Children in the Reception class attend on a full-time basis. The majority of pupils are of White British heritage. Two teachers left at Christmas 2014 and have been replaced by four staff sharing two jobs. The school has applied to become an academy from 1 August 2015. The headteacher is a local leader of education. She works with other local schools to share expertise.
