School Description

The school is smaller than the average-sized primary school. The school has a Reception class and six other single-age classes. A large majority of pupils are White British, the remainder coming from a range of ethnic heritages. The proportion of pupils who speak English as an additional language is below average. The proportion of disabled pupils and those who have special educational needs supported through school action, and at school action plus or with a statement of special educational needs, are average. The proportion of pupils supported by the pupil premium is below average. This is additional government funding provided for pupils who are looked after by the local authority or known to be eligible for free school meals. The school meets the government’s current floor standards, which set the minimum expectations for pupils’ attainment and progress. The school provides a breakfast club, and a number of after-school activities. In the last two years, there have been many changes of staff, including senior leaders. The present headteacher took up the post in September 2012.
