The Da Vinci Studio School of Creative Enterprise is smaller than the average-sized secondary school. The school is part of the North Hertfordshire Studio Schools Trust and is sponsored by North Hertfordshire College. The Executive Principal also oversees the Da Vinci Studio School of Science and Engineering and The Thomas Alleyne Academy, both of which are situated in Stevenage. Many students who join this school have had a disrupted education in the past. They have not previously attended school regularly and some have been educated at home. There are many more girls on roll than boys. Most students are of White British heritage. The proportion of students supported through pupil premium funding, which is additional funding for students who are known to be eligible for free school meals or who are in the care of the local authority, is above average. The proportion of students who are disabled or who have special educational needs is above average. No students speak English as an additional language. A very small number of students attend offsite provision at the North Hertfordshire Education Support Centre in Letchworth. The school does not operate an early-entry policy for GCSE examinations. As the school only admitted its first students in September 2013, it has not yet been evaluated against the government’s floor standard, which sets the minimum expectations for students’ attainment and progress at the end of Key Stage 4.
