The school is larger than the average-sized primary school. Most pupils are of White British background. The proportion of pupils from other ethnic groups is lower than average. The proportion of pupils supported by the pupil premium is much higher than average. The pupil premium is additional government funding provided for those pupils who are known to be eligible for free school meals, and those children who are looked after by the local authority. The proportion of pupils who have special educational needs and/or disabilities is below average. The proportion of pupils who receive support through an education, health and care plan is well below average. Children in the early years are taught in two classes. Three-year-old children are taught part time in the Nursery class and four-year-olds are taught full time in the Reception class. There are mixed-age classes across the school. The school receives support from local leaders of education and the local authority. In 2015, the school did not meet the government’s current floor standards, which set the minimum expectations for pupils’ attainment and progress in English and mathematics.
