School Description

This is a smaller than average-sized junior school. Most pupils are of White British heritage, with a small number from a range of minority ethnic backgrounds. The proportion of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities varies from year to year but is higher than the national average. Their range of needs includes specific learning difficulties, language and behavioural and emotional difficulties. Seven pupils have statements of special educational needs. The proportion of pupils known to be eligible for free school meals is below the national average. The school meets the current floor standard. The school has achieved a number of external accreditations, including the Activemark, Healthy Schools’ Award and the Basic Skills and Primary Science Quality Marks. There is a privately run breakfast and afterschool club that did not form part of the inspection.
